There are times in my job when all the pieces just fall into place. This was one of those occasions. And it’s not hard to see why. Take a beautiful, historic New England home, complete with bountiful flower gardens and a secluded pond, a handsome and vibrant wedding couple, with loving and supportive families, wedding guests who were totally into the whole deal, add an amazing 70-degree November day, and all the ingredients were there for something special to take place. And it did!
The bride, with lots of help from her maid (who doubled as younger sister), got ready inside the historic 1856 home and envisioned the day and evening ahead.
Meanwhile, we were putting the finishing touches on the reception site, set among the amazing gardens and inside the decked out tent from Taylor Rental. Inside the tent, there were wonderful mercury gold glass chargers and amber goblets atop wood tables and chairs from Peak Event Services. Antique china and silverware were provided by the host family, and there were flowers everywhere you turned. And when I say everywhere, I mean everywhere! Beautiful, lavish arrangements by Lucky You Flowers, which just so happens to be the mother of the bride’s business!
There were flowers everywhere. On the cocktail tables.
On the cake, made by Harvest Cafe and Bakery.
And even Rupert the dog got his own garland to wear to the ceremony!
With everything in place, it was time to start the procession across the street to the pond, which made the most perfect setting for a late fall New England wedding ceremony, presided over by the bride’s brother.
I’ll say they do!
After the pond ceremony the newlyweds were greeted by neighbors and friends who lined the walkway back to the house and showered them with, you guessed it, rose petals.
Cocktail hour left time for some family and guest photos.
And time to sneak back across to the pond for a spectacular sunset shot.
Mini Tabasco bottles at the raw bar were a heartfelt little touch from the talented staff at Max Catering and Events.
Luminaries lined the walkway to the reception tent and also the spectacular gardens on this great property.
Inside the tent, there were many memorable moments, including this one when the bride’s mom showed her the specially made napkins by Happiest Embroidery, featuring the wedding couple’s initials AND a caricature of their dog, Rupert. Obviously, this surprise was a hit!

After a great meal and an evening of dancing to the sounds of the Silver Arrow Band, the fun continued with a night-ending trip on the party bus.
