Lily & Joe: The Wedding Where Faith and Family Came Together As One

Bride and groom enjoying a lighter moment

When you know you know…you know? For our wedding couple, Lily and Joe, they knew! Coming together as part of their shared love for Connecticut’s fledgling professional soccer team, this pair was meant to be together. And on the occasion of their late spring wedding, two amazing people and their large, loving families made it official. Welcome to our look-back to an amazing wedding where faith and family came together as one.

The long day started bright and early with the bride and groom taking some private time to read notes written to one another.

Before the beautiful wedding dress was adorned, some last-minute touch-ups were expertly applied by Taylor Artistry.

There were plenty of hands on deck to help out when the time came, including those of the mother of the bride, who got to share a special moment with her girl before the posse moved out.

The guys had to get a move on to beat the girls to the church, where our crew was on hand to put on the finishing touches.

Spectacular florals were everywhere you turned at the church, all arranged by the talented designers at Pentimento Flowers.

Cue the processional music, it’s time to get these two married.

Oh well. The best-laid plans!

A job well done, mom!

Finally, a beaming father of the bride accompanied his beautiful daughter to the alter. A tear or two may have been shed in the process.

With the ceremonial duties complete, it was time to recess from the church, board the party bus for a photo shoot and then we’ll see you all at the reception.

While the wedding party was off doing the photo thing, we were off to the Hartford Marriott to help with some final preps for the reception. There was some repurposing of the ceremony flowers…

And, of course, making sure the spectacular floral centerpieces were properly fluffed and ready to go.

The cake, from Modern Pastry Shop, was simply stunning!

With everything in place and cocktail hour out of the way, it was time to kick this party into gear starting with the introductions of the parents, and then the guests of honor.

First dance was a delight against the backdrop of a spectacular dance floor wrap from Slaters Dance Floors. That floor was the center of attention for the rest of the evening.

There were toasts, parent dances, a cake cutting, and well a lot of dancing that ensued.

After listening to everyone pay tribute to our great couple, the newlyweds got a chance to thank their families and guests and then the real partying could begin.

All under the direction of the wonderful Boston Common Band, which kept the party going until the wee hours.
