Gatorade-Themed Bar Mitzvah Party

Coming up with a theme was not an easy task for this mitzvah. The bar mitzvah boy has many
athletic talents, but really enjoys swimming and cross country running. So, how do you combine
these two athletic endeavors? Well, you do tend to drink Gatorade for both, right? Thus, a theme
was born! We’ll do a Gatorade-themed party adding decorative elements you would see at a swim
or cross country meet.

As the guests arrived they picked up their place cards. The young adults received swim goggles
with their table assignment,

…while the adults were tied to their tables by specially designed running shoe laces dressed up
with the event logo.

We were lucky enough to have a sporty venue for this party, Rentschler Field in East Hartford.
We were able to show off the tweaked Gatorade logo on the giant screen for all to see.

The “G” in the Gatorade logo was transformed to a “C” for the Bar Mitzvah boy, Carson.

So anywhere and everywhere the “G” of the Gatorade logo was changed to a “C” for Carson. We
had giant Gatorade dispensers raised up high as centerpieces,

…smaller Gatorade containers looking like they were pouring the sports drink into vases,

…other Gatorade containers were dressed up with mannequin heads, logo’d swim caps and
goggles,

…and some centerpieces had Gatorade bottles glowing with LED lights and ice.

Each guest table was accented with either something cross country or swimming to help complete
the look.

To add to the running theme part of the party each guest table had a table number that was
designed to look like a running bib, complete with safety pins.

I used more Gatorade bottles to make a glowing Candle Lighting piece topped off with our
specially made logo on the front of each bottle.

Cocktail tables were embellished by sneakers transformed into votives,

…or swim goggles, caps and votives.

We had a concession stand for Carson’s friends, complete with a personalized menu sign.

I converted a Gatorade cooler into the most perfect card box.

And a backdrop was designed for guests to get their photo taken, displaying the logo and
the guest of honor’s favored athletic events.

An over-sized sports chair made for the most perfect sign-in board.

There were so many amazing giveaways at the end of the night! Specially designed sweatshirts
given to Carson’s friends,

…and they were embellished with the logo and personalized for each young adult.

His friends also received a pair of running shoelaces,

…and a phone card holder (used as a name tag holder) that were both tricked out with the logo.

The adult guests were not forgotten. As they left they picked up a cute package of mints displayed
on a table,

And I personally handed them out using a Gatorade container (of course!) as a basket.

And with that, this amazing event reached the finish line! Mazel Tov Carson!

Easy! Done! Enjoy!
