From the beginning of the planning process I knew this was going to be a special party. The mitzvah girl and her family made it clear they wanted it all, and in the end, I think they got that, and more! Let’s try to capture all that was Camryn’s Perfect 10 Gymnastics-Themed Bat Mitzvah Party.
The venerable G. Fox Building in downtown Hartford was transformed into a Roaring Twenties style venue with all the bells and whistles you might expect, and some you can’t even imagine, to create a spectacular party. The entranceway was glammed up by Boppers Events to feature a giant arch and bejeweled pipe-and-drape uplit in shades of purple. Inside the atrium there was elegant lounge furniture in all shapes and sizes that matched the grandeur of the art deco building. Everywhere you looked you saw not just one, but two amazing logos, which accentuated the theme and put everything in balance!
There were some spectacular photos of the mitzvah girl displayed proudly throughout the venue that reminded people who this night was all about.
The gymnastics theme even carried through to the bars which were creatively labeled for adults and children alike.
Did I mention that this was a scene for all the senses? How bout some entertainment, of the aerial variety, by Cirque to Go. This was just visually stunning, and not something I’m even going to contemplate trying!
A simple, yet elegant, card box was on display for guests to honor the mitzvah girl, adding another thematic element to the decor.
Guests were invited to snap a photo or two in front of the step-and-repeat, which, of course, featured both party logos in an alternating pattern.
The sign-in board and invitations, designed by Etched in Sloane, also added to the splendor of the evening.
Now, you may have noticed something about the picture above? No, that wasn’t a party guest arriving for the ball, it was an interactive and very much alive strolling table from Screaming Queens. That’s right, a moving table, with a real person inside it, displaying the place cards for the evening. This had to be experienced to be believed!
With the preliminaries in the books, the adults were welcomed into the ballroom for another feast of the senses — both decor-wise and gastronomic. The tableware, linens, and chairs, furnished by Peak Event Services, meshed with the centerpieces and votives of Pentimento Design, to create one spectacular setting for the formal portion of the evening.
I painted a practice balance beam that served as the base for the purple (of course) candles which, along with Marquee letters, made for a perfect candle-lighting piece. Camryn stuck the landing on this one!
Another spectacular (and well-kept surprise) moment was the montage, produced by Reel Video Group, which, in keeping with the theme, featured some very special guests at the end. Take a look!
Good job keeping the gymnasts’ appearance on the down-low, Mom!
From there, Boppers Events took over, inviting guests to get comfy and to get down!
The father-daughter dance was truly a show-stopper…
and one that helped burn off dinner, making room for the decadent desserts. These delicious donuts from Donut Crazy were beautiful and yummy!
The younger party-goers got to take home this stylish bag at the end of the evening…
While all guests got a charge out of these specially designed party favors, provided by Halo 2 Cloud.
In the end, I’d say you nailed the whole mitzvah routine. Mazel Tov Camryn and family, you earned a perfect 10!
Easy! Done Enjoy!
