A blue glow was everywhere for this fun Swim Themed Bar Mitzvah Party. It is amazing what
lighting can do to help create a mood and look for an event. I wanted this one to look like blue
water was everywhere.
To help create the look of this party I came up with a logo that would show the theme and have
the mitzvah boy’s name and his initials. I flipped a traditional swimmer sign so that the arms
formed the letter “Z”, representing the Bar Mitzvah boy’s surname.
As guests arrived they picked up their cute swim cap with goggles place cards at the entrance.
It was clear from the start that swimming would be the theme of this party.
I created the centerpiece by filling square vases with blue gel beads and LED lights to give the
illusion of pool water and placed the logo on each centerpiece topper to indicate the assigned
table numbers.
On each table was a napkin ringed with mini swim goggles that could be used as a wristband to
wear throughout the night.
Repeated on the gift box was the logo and the place card design for guests to put envelopes in
a safe place as they entered the main room.
A cake and cupcakes designed by Julie Armstrong from LizMar Sweets also accentuated the
swim theme. The cake looked like a swimmer with goggles and had the Bar Mitzvah boy’s initials
on the cap.
Julie also created cupcakes to look like a pool of swimmers in a race complete with swim caps and
lanes separating the racers.
As the kids left the party they grabbed their favor – a sweatshirt with, of course, the swim logo front
and center. This was a great memento for all the kids who came to help celebrate this special day.
Easy! Done! Enjoy!

Can you please tell me where to order the swim goggle napkin rings? We have a swim team here in Delmar NY and I would LOVE to surprise them with these at the annual banquet 🙂
